Growing Minds and Saving Forests

Education is key to conservation efforts and vital in improving the livelihoods of forest communities.

Which is why we are very proud to support environmental education programs in Borneo!

These education programs help improve the lives of women and children whilst also fostering a deeper understanding of and connection to nature.

The Literacy Program helps engage women and children to improve their reading and writing skills. Since it began, 271 students have taken part, half of which are women.

The Green Garden Reading Program is both educational and fun, and reaches 20-43 children and their parents each month. Sessions help encourage kids to find joy in reading, while also learning about environmental issues.

Attending the After-School Program provides an opportunity for kids to learn English and computer skills.

And the Women’s Literacy Program engages women to become fluent readers and learn computer skills, which in turn helps them to gain new life skills and opens doors for better job opportunities.

We are so grateful to our amazing supporters for making these programs possible. It’s with your support that we can help empower forest communities with the education, skills and resources they need to improve their livelihoods and protect their forest homes.
